Conversation Management

Backend.AI GO provides a robust sidebar for organizing your AI interactions. You can keep your chats tidy using folders, renaming, and easy navigation.

The sidebar on the left gives you quick access to:

  • New Chat: Starts a fresh conversation with the currently selected model.

  • Library: Where you manage your downloaded models.

  • Conversations: Your history of chats, organized in a tree structure.

Organizing with Folders

You can create a nested folder structure to categorize your chats (e.g., "Coding", "Creative Writing", "Research").

Creating Folders

  1. Hover over the conversation list header or an existing folder.

  2. Click the New Folder icon (or access via context menu).

  3. Name your folder.

Managing Chats

  • Move: Drag and drop chats into folders to organize them.

  • Rename: Double-click a chat title or use the right-click menu to rename it to something memorable.

  • Context Menu: Right-click any folder or chat to see options like Rename, Delete, or New Chat Here.

Search History

Use the search bar at the top of the sidebar to quickly find past conversations. It searches through chat titles to help you locate that one specific code snippet or recipe you generated weeks ago.

Data Privacy

All conversation history and folder structures are stored locally on your device's file system. Each conversation is saved as an individual JSON file. This ensures that your data remains under your control and is easily accessible in a standard format. Uninstalling the app may delete this data, so be sure to backup your model data directory if you plan to reinstall.
